MANAGEMENT TEAM
Kirk Berridge
Founder, CEO
Fan Media Network is led by sports marketing and digital media professional Kirk Berridge.
In 2004, Berridge founded SportsAdMarketplace, an online advertising network that helped over 109 official pro and college sports team web sites properly penetrate the online advertising market, while at the same time, made it possible for online advertisers to run campaigns across a critical mass of sports team web sites through one insertion order and one invoice. Berridge sold the business to Epic Cycle Interactive in 2005 and ran the business for the acquiring company, where he built a management team of online advertising veterans from ESPN.com, CBS Sportsline and CSTV.com and helped raise $3MM from investors and booked $500,000 in revenue the first 3 months after putting the team in place.
While with the San Francisco 49ers (NFL) from 2001-2004, Berridge led the sponsorship sales staff in new business revenue and helped take 49ers.com from a cost center to a profit center, with an emphasis on sponsorship, e-mail marketing and new product development.
In 2000-01, Berridge helped Popmail.com (ENEWSNOTIFIER), an e-mail marketing application service provider, pioneer preference-based e-mail marketing with over 100 NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL and NCAA team clients, helping sports teams monetize their Internet and e-mail channels.
During the mid to late 1990s with the San Jose Sharks (NHL), Berridge established the initial sponsorship relationships with Compaq and HP, who now name the arena (HP Pavilion). Berridge was the first to introduce sports sponsorship to companies like Yahoo!, McAfee and Siebel and sold the first ever advertisement on SJSharks.com in 1997. The San Jose Sharks were among the first professional sports teams in the world to launch a commercial web site in March 1995.
Berridge began his career in 1991 with the Indiana Pacers (NBA) in media relations. A former athlete, Berridge was a member of the University of Indianapolis Track & Field team, competing in the Pole Vault, 4 x 100 relay and was the 1991 Indoor and Outdoor Indiana Little State Champion in the Triple Jump.
